For Immediate Release
July 11, 2018
Dotty Nygard, a local emergency room nurse and a community activist who has spent her life advocating on behalf of families and the Tracy community, has announced her run for the 2018 Tracy City Council election.
Previously a congressional district candidate and Riverbank City Council member, Dotty will continue her fight on behalf of our city.
Her priority is to engage with the residents of Tracy to identify solutions for local issues.
“The only way we can bring about change is to continue to listen to our community’s concerns and to work together. My priority is connecting with the residents of Tracy to continue to identify the needs of individuals and families.”
Dotty joins many Tracy residents who feel that failure on the part of the current city leadership to address the needs of Tracy residents continues to exacerbate our most pressing problems: lack of job opportunities, transportation, and need for housing.
“For too long, this city’s elected officials have promised increase in job opportunities and yet the lack of livable wage jobs continues to compound our traffic problems while residents are forced to travel outside of the city for work, decreasing their quality of life and taking time away from families. It is time to bring innovative solutions to these issues and bring jobs home. “
“As a nurse, I have a first-hand knowledge of Tracy family needs and struggles, and I pledge to continue advocating for a healthy and vital community. Serving the Tracy residents gives me a great sense of pride, and I am proud to call Tracy my home.”
